December is Here! Holiday Fragrances

Frosted window panes...candles gleaming inside!!! Yes, December is here!!! One of my favorite things about December, particularly living in Idaho, is all of the wonderful products that you can purchase with balsam and fir. Boy, I do love that wonderful balsam and fir smell around my house, particularly since I do not put up a tree. As an empty-nester and a grandmother who generally goes to visit the gkids, it does not make sense for me to pull out the tree and decorate it for myself. Don't get me wrong, I have a wreath on my door and I have some decorations on my mantel, so I am in the holiday spirit, I just don't put up a big tree.

Many of us cannot resist the purchase of holiday fragrances such as cinnamon, orange, fir, pine, myrrh, etc. While many stores carry some good products, not all of them are natural and products such as candles can cause sooting, poor air quality because of the lack of natural fragrance and other issues. The absolute best way that you can have that wonderful holiday smell in your house is to create it with your own essential oils.

I try to stay generic in my recipes because some of us have our own favorite brands. While I sell and use Aura Cacia products extensively, you can use any brand of essential oil to create these recipes. Here are two wonderful recipes to create a welcoming holiday home:
